Information we collect

When you use Antakshari Online, we may process:

• Display name and basic profile details when you sign in with Google
• Guest display names for anonymous Firebase sessions
• Gameplay data such as rooms joined, scores, leaderboard entries, and friend relationships
• Messages you send through the contact form or by email
• Technical data your browser sends automatically (such as IP address, browser type, and device type) through hosting infrastructure

How we use information

We use collected information to:

• Run multiplayer rooms and synchronize game state in real time
• Display leaderboards and friend lists for signed-in users
• Respond to support requests and fix bugs
• Keep the service secure and prevent abuse

Firebase Authentication & Realtime Database

We use Google Firebase Authentication for Google sign-in and guest (anonymous) sessions, and Firebase Realtime Database to store live room state, scores, and leaderboard data. Firebase processes this data under Google’s privacy practices. We do not sell your personal information.

Dictionary word validation

When you submit a word, the client may call the public dictionaryapi.dev API to check spelling, with a local word list fallback stored on our site (words.json and category lists). Those requests send the word being checked, not your account profile.

Local storage & preferences

The site uses browser local storage to remember preferences such as selected game mode and background music mute status. This data stays on your device unless it is also stored as part of normal gameplay in Firebase.

Cookies

Firebase Authentication may use cookies or similar storage to keep you signed in. Hosting providers may set essential cookies needed to deliver the website. We do not currently run Google Analytics on this site.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

If Google AdSense is enabled after approval, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads, including personalized or non-personalized ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can manage ad personalization at Google Ads Settings or visit aboutads.info.

Data retention

Gameplay and account-related records remain in Firebase while they are needed to operate features such as leaderboards and friends. Room data for inactive rooms may be removed over time as part of normal maintenance. Contact us if you want to request deletion of information associated with your account.

Children’s privacy

Antakshari Online is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect information, including Firebase security rules and HTTPS hosting. No internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

• Play as a guest if you prefer not to use Google sign-in.
• Contact us to ask about data associated with your account.
• Use browser settings to clear local storage or block cookies (some features may stop working).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy.
